It depends on the metal. Solid 14k and 18k gold keeps its color through everyday wear. Sterling silver naturally darkens over time, and a gentle rub with a silver polishing cloth brings back the shine. Our gold-plated pieces have a sterling silver base, so the plate can soften with wear, especially with perfume, lotion and water. Gentle care keeps them bright for longer.
